No News.

Sorry there was no news on Friday,
I had to go away,
on a trip for the Wensleydale Gazette.

Where did I go,
I went to Heathrow,
on a fast and rather large jumbo jet.

Three hours there,
three hours back,
and the meeting was very, very short.

But I had to go,
to meet someone I know,
who may give the Gazette some support.

The weekend was very busy,
I still feel slightly dizzy,
and I'm tired from all of the travel.

I'm dying of thirst,
my stomach's about to burst,
and my eyes feel like they're full of old gravel.

Safety advice for bonfire night.
Stay clear of all rockets,
don't put matches in your pockets,
and keep all your pets indoors.

Keep fireworks in a tin,
don't put old ones in the bin,
and don't touch anything that's not yours.

Go to an organised event,
it'll be money well spent,
and it's easier, and a lot less stress.

You'll have a great deal of fun,
and when it's all done,
you won't have to clear up the mess!

All those firework displays,
the smoke will last for days,
and people spend millions of pounds.

It has to be a joke,
all that money gone up in smoke,
just for the colours and the sounds.

Why not give the money to the poor,
they need it much more,
and give your eyes and ears a break.

Do a good turn,
don't let your money burn,
it'll be one of the best decisions that you make.

Bonfire Night.
There's still a smell in the air,
rockets everywhere,
and some of the bonfires are still burning.

Only two have burns,
but this raises some concerns,
about why everyone isn’t learning.

There were some worried pets,
who were taken to the vets,
they were suffering from shock and stress.

And it’s good to hear,
that this is a lot less than last year,
and the impact of bonfire night is getting less.

Tomorrow Emily Gouda is running a cooking workshop in the Count of Boursin’s Mansion.
Do you want to make or bake a better cake?
Do you want to try to fry a more tasty pie?

If the answer is yes,
go to the following address,
roll your sleeves up and give it a try.

Just take yourself and an old pan or pot,
I’m sure there’s an old one you’ve got.

All the ingredients are free, be there at half past three,
I’ll remind you tomorrow in case you’ve forgot.

Cooking classes with Emily Gouda
She didn't learn from a book,
she's a natural born cook.

Not following what others do,
she's one of the very special few, who;

Can make a cake over 6 feet tall,
can create a meal for a royal ball.

She can surprise your taste buds and leave your mouth totally amazed,
and present it to look like it belongs at one of those art displays.

From an Indian curry, to steak and chips,
it will be the tastiest food to ever pass your lips.

Emily Gouda and her cooking classes.

It was a roaring success,
at the Count's address,
and over 100 people were there.
100 keen cooks,
had put away their books,
and pots and pans were everywhere.

They were given the chance,
to create a new dish from France.
They learnt a new recipe,
from the southern tip of Italy.

They prepared chew chow chinese,
and vegetarian Vietnamese.
They used hungarian ham,
a kind of garlic jam,
and lots of different kitchen devices.
They added bark from old trees,
honey from young bees,
and many weird and wonderful spices.

They left happy and content,
glad that they went,
and went home feeling confident and able.
Emily wasn't in the mood,
to cook any more food,
so phoned the local restaurant to book a table.
