The hikers are ok, they'll fight another day,
they're exhausted but very much alive.
In the middle of the fire, things looked dire,
but somehow they managed to survive.
Later today, there's a few words they want to say,
in a news conference at half past three.
It won't last long, they'll explain what went wrong,
and how they were able to break free.
Tuesday 26th Aug 2008 Noble Cheese prize – Presented by Charlie Cheshire "The prize this year, you'll be glad to hear, has been won by last year's winner. Tomorrow night, she'll be under the spotlight, at the Stilton Hotel, hosting dinner. Working behind the scenes, helping us achieve our dreams, she gives us all lots of inspiration. She's a real treasure and it gives me much pleasure, to present this on behalf of our nation." Wednesday 27th Aug 2008 Noble Cheese prize dinner – A speech “Ladies, gentlemen, I can't believe I've won again, thank you for all your support. Thanks for your kind notes, as well as your votes, and the gifts that you all bought. It's a complete surprise, I have tears in my eyes, and I really don't know what to say. Wensleydale Witch day
Five hundred years ago, a high wind began to blow,
and a Witch flew in from the South.
Arriving on her broom, bringing doom and gloom,
evil spells spewed from her mouth.
Streams stopped flowing, trees stopped growing,
and animals no longer roamed the land.
A Witch to be feared, even the sun disappeared,
and all the farmers fields turned to sand.
Then came a lucky break, because she made a mistake,
by not taking it to her bedroom one night.
The only broom in her coven, she left it next to the oven,
and it got so hot that it actually caught alight.
