I am the editor of the Wensleydale Gazette. I am 35 yrs old, married to Christine and have a daughter called Carly. I live in Wensleydale Well.
Monday 31st December
I can't believe it's nearly here,
it'll soon be New Year,
wow, this year has really, really flown.
There’s a party in Wensleydale Well,
8 p.m by the Station bell,
so nobody has to spend it on their own.
There's traditional food and drink,
a family extravaganza on the ice rink.
There's a firework display of massive rockets,
that'll make your eyes pop out of their sockets.
There's a band playing your favourite tunes,
who at midnight will launch 5,000 ballons.
There's hot food and Hungarian mulled wine,
and clowns for the children to have a good time.
Tuesday 1st January 2008
Awake, awake, get up, it's 2008,
so what will this year bring for you?
A brand new year, leave behind your fear,
so plan what great things you will do?
Without a doubt, what you get out,
depends on what you put in.
You have to choose, not to loose,
and make it your goal to win!
Wednesday 2nd January 2008
The second day of 2008,
and I’m still feeling great,
day 2 of going to the gym.
My new year’s resolutions,
My fitness solutions,
I’ve told people so can’t pack in!
This year, I’m going to stop worrying,
be less stressed and stop hurrying,
and be more patient driving my car.
I’m going to read more books,
not worry about my looks,
and learn to play the guitar.
Thursday 3rd January 2008
January 2008, day three,
Christmas seems like history,
and these resolutions are tough.
Down the gymn every day,
and the guitar I said I’d play,
I’ve just about had enough!
But during this year,
I’m going persevere,
and do what I said I’d do.
Friday 4th January 2008
It's minus 17 today,
if you're home, stay,
it's best not to go out.
There are lots of accidents,
one car drove through a fence,
and straight over a roundabout.
It's the coldest we've known,
it'll freeze you to the bone,
and people are freezing in the street
There is a nasty flu bug going around,
you can hear that unmistakable sound,
of Cheese People coughing and sneezing.
Blowing their noses, wiping there eyes,
catching a cold is hardly a surprise,
because the weather's absolutely freezing.
