The Christmas lights this year will be switched on by Emma Rees-Jones, who said;

"On the 1st December the switch will be pressed,
and we have a special treat for you, so I think you'll be impressed.

There are lights and decorations and a big Christmas tree,
and one other surprise, you’ll have to just wait and see!

Today in the Vale,
a few students are worried if they’ll fail,
a test to check on their knowledge.

They must do their best,
and get good marks in this test,
if they want a chance of going to college.

For some maths is a mystery,
hell is studying history,
and French, you might as well forget.

Some can only wish,
that one day they’ll speak English,
and in cookery, they can’t bake a baguette.

Exams are Over for this year at least.

Lots of stress,
but great success.

No more this year,
I hear them cheer.

Not the last,
but everybody passed.

A smile not a frown,
they’re out on the town!!!

Major road works in Cheddar Village.
This morning we've been told that they're digging up the road in Cheddar Village, later today.

We're expecting heavy traffic queues,
so listen to the news,
and expect at least a 1 hour delay.

You can follow the diversion sign,
but if you're very short of time,
l would avoid this road, all day.

You could use the C84,
but I've tried it once before,
and I'd advise you to find another way.
