Christmas decorations

Like from a fairy tale, they decorate the Vale,

with streamers and lights.

It stays this way, twenty four hours a day,

and for the next forty nights.

Trees ten metres high, light up the sky,

and snowmen are dotted all around.

Burning log fires and beautiful choirs,

singing the most perfect winter sound.

Late night shopping

You can shop till eight, this is quite late,

but it's quiet and there is no stress.

Look around, there's a bargain to be found,

find a new pair of trousers or a dress.

A present for a friend, a Christmas card to send,

or maybe something for your house.

A gift for the one you love, a scarf, hat or glove,

for a boyfriend, a girlfriend or spouse.

Park expansion

More rides and swings, plus other things,

and an extra field for sports.

More plants and trees, a new hive for bees,

and two more badminton courts.

People love the park, they stay till dark,

it's fun to get fit and it's free.

A popular place, to play, train and race,

and a very low entrance fee.

Climate change

It's unusually warm, well above the norm,

probably due to climate change.

Bees are still flying, normally they're dying,

it's really weird and quite strange.

The trees are still green, a few buds can be seen,

and some plants are still growing.

It like Spring, you can hear birds sing,

how long it'll continue, there's no knowing.

Weekend fishing competition

Two days of fishing, fish praying and wishing,

that they won't be caught.

Fish on their guard, trying very hard,

to use what they've been taught.

Fishermen can't wait, to get a bite on their bait,

from a big tasty fish.

They really would like, to land a plump juicy Pike,

this is their wish.
